Welcome to MRCSWith effect from the first examination in September 2008, the format of the MRCS examination will be revised for trainees following the new pattern of surgical training introduced in the United Kingdom from August 2007. To conform to PMETB requirements, the MRCS will include an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). The clinical component will not be offered as a separate component of the MRCS examination starting in September 2008. Further details of the MRCS to be available from September 2008 will be published on this website in Spring 2008. The Intercollegiate MRCS Examination of the Surgical Royal Colleges of Great Britain and Ireland will continue to be offered in its current formant in the UK, to existing candidates only, until October/November 2010 (see here). However, it will continue to be offered to existing and new candidates outside the UK until further notice. |
