The Presidents of the four surgical Royal Colleges of Great Britain and Ireland invite application from surgeons with significant relevant experience for the Chair of three key Intercollegiate Committees as follows:
- The Intercollegiate Committee for Basic Surgical Examinations (ICBSE)
- The Joint Committee on Intercollegiate Examinations (JCIE)
- The Joint Committee on Surgical Training (JCST)

Amendment to MRCS Regulations
With effect from the April 2013 diet, and in accordance with guidance issued by the United Kingdom General Medical Council, candidates will no longer have unlimited attempts at Part A of the MRCS examination. The regulations have been amended to allow candidates 6 attempts only at Part A (reg 2.1.6)
The GMC has agreed that doctors who are already in specialty training, or who enter specialty training by 31 October 2013 will be able to have any valid passes in previously approved national professional examinations counted towards a CCT, even if they were obtained outside approved training.
